Lawrence County Rail Trail

November, 2024 by randylamons

The trail is 7 or 8 miles long and runs from the Hoxie City Park to Williams Baptist University. The trail crosses several city streets and also a state highway so be aware of traffic. It’s not really very scenic but it could be a nice trail with a little work. The trail is not very well kept and could use some tlc.

Riverbluff Walkway

pretty good sketchy areas passed bass pro shop

July, 2024 by fly777300

Entered the trail on Beale Street. Pretty accessible and clean. They doing some repairs but not blocking the trail. Went over the big bridge across the Mississippi River into Arkansas side. Easy run on passing. The return over the bridge has a pretty nice incline great workout.

new park facilities at Hoxie

February, 2024 by poecat10

From the college to Hoxie you will come to a updated park with new playground equipment and three bathrooms They are nice if someone would keep them clean so that was a disappointment that it was nasty and not kept up But they are brand new so maybe that’s just a one off and they will have somebody from parks and recreation to clean them soon

Wolf River Greenway

better suited for full suspension MTB

Trail is poorly maintained, narrow and probably best for walking not road biking. Trail is paved, but very rough in many spots. Completely void of directional signs, makes it difficult for first timers.

What’s up with the electric non-pedal scooters ?

March, 2023 by hawkeye396

I’m starting to see quite a number of electric assisted bikes on the trail. The shame of that is a lot of the riders are inexperienced in handling the heavier bikes. They tend to ride faster without care of other riders. I saw someone on the trail today whose “scooter” was electric power with no pedals. It’s ruining the experience on the trail for the regular bikers. What a shame.

Shelby Farms Greenline

awesome trail

September, 2022 by iverywood

Drove up from MS to ride the green line and greenway trails. They are both incredibly maintained. Friendly walkers, runners and other riders. Obviously, the locals have poured tons of money into the construction and ongoing maintenance on both of these trails. Several miles of connecting trails from both. Be sure to venture into Shelby farms for several more easy, beautiful miles. Best kept secret in Memphis.

Walnut Ridge to Hoxie Trail

September, 2022 by exitrealtyconnie

Very nice paved trail!! There is a parking lot at the Walnut Ridge trailhead. Easy to start there and ride to Hoxie. Easy ride.. the only issue is crossing Hwy 67, 4 lanes of heavy traffic.. but other than that, very nice! There is a Casey’s on the way if you need water and a restroom.

Shelby Farms Greenline

an easy trail for a long flat run

August, 2022 by claire.louisa.knowles

Started and finished near the correctional facility, where there’s a little parking lot and easy access to the trail. Lots of fellow runners as well as walkers and cyclists. Quite noisy with traffic, but quietens down as you head east and move closer to Shelby Farms & gets a little noisy again when you head into Cordova. Very shady most of the way and a welcome water station near the crossing near the correctional facility.

Kennedy Park 5K Loop: Trail Run

August, 2022 by claire.louisa.knowles

Parked at Wolf River Trail Head. Nice off path trails that are signposted (temporary signposts) to left and right of path. Left trail dead ends, right trail goes parallel to path and rejoins path. Nice underfoot in woods, lots of wooden board walks. Doesn’t connect to other parts of Wolf River Trail yet (as of August ‘22).

Wolf River Greenway

Heavy rain all last night & this morning which caused Wolf River & tributaries to flood parts of the trail. All was passable but several muddy areas. Took wrong turn several times due to intersections not marked which way to go. Enjoyed the ride.

Lawrence County Rail-Trail

nice paved trail

December, 2021 by poecat10

I love that it’s off the main roads and highway. The path that starts at the college is nice but it does get secluded with over hanging trees and the debris is on the ground so it makes for a not so smooth ride for a short distance. Before you hit the main highway you have to cross to get to the other side you will cross a wooden bridge. It’s seems dilapidated but for now it’s usable hopefully someone will fix this. Then you will now cross the main highway and it can be dangerous so wait till you can safely cross Wait on truck drivers they will not slow down It’s a nice ride after that You can park your car in several spots At William Baptist college Or in Hoxie Several spots to stop and get something to eat Even Casey’s gas station has air you have to buy it

Hoxie Trail

November, 2021 by wegot2go

Trail is very isolated. Dangerous Bridge at the end. Supports are rotted out. Only saw one rider. No places for refreshments or food.
