The 6th Avenue Trail provides expansive views of the Rocky Mountain foothills as it follows its namesake thoroughfare (also known as US 6) from the Colorado School of Mines in downtown Golden to Colfax Avenue. Mid-way along the route, trail-goers will pass Jefferson County's spectacular government building with its 125-foot glass-enclosed dome.
Near the trail's northern end lies the Clear Creek History Park, offering a glimpse of life here in the 1800s, as well as the Clear Creek Trail for further adventuring.
Parking is available on the Colorado School of Mines campus near the athletic fields and just north of 19th Street.
