This moderately difficult trail features great views of Minister Creek and passes by several outstanding rock outcroppings, the latter about 1 mile from the trailhead parking lot. This heavily used trail is marked with white diamonds. The trail connects with the North Country National Scenic trail at its northern extent.
The trailhead is located on SR 666 next to the Minister Creek Campground, which is 14.7 miles southwest of Sheffield. A restroom is available in the campground.
This trail is a beautifully wooded and a somewhat challenging trail. The solitude and cool air even in summertime along the creek make it a perfect warm weather trail!
Great trail, wife and I love to back back this trail. lots of great camp sights and water sources. Rocks are awesome and the vista view is really great first thing in the morning.
My husband and I hiked part of this trail south and middle loop in the morning it was challenging at first because did the south trAil and then the middle trail but then was fine. I would suggest the opposite. I love the rock formations on the south loop. We will go back and camp while doing the entire loop. The campground at beginning is small but clean.
Just got back from an awesome weekend on the trail. Took a group of scouts did the whole loop on Saturday (big loop). The southern side is a killer and is definitley what makes it rated moderate to difficult.
