The Ballpark Road Trail is a short sidepath, one of several in the city of Sturgis that together form a ten mile off-road system of trails. Beginning at the intersection of Junction Avenue and Ballpark Road near the Sturgis Regional Hospital, the trail follows its titular road to the west, connecting with the Deadman Trail just after crossing a set of railroad tracks. The path crosses to the other side of the road at Arizona Ave and continues on past the Sturgis Elementary School, where users can hit up the Sturgis Connector Trail to connect to even more of the city's bike paths. The trail follows the road as it heads north, before ending right before a railroad bridge.
Parking may be available at the Sturgis Elementary School; be sure to follow any posted signs and regulations.
To reach the trail from the direction of Rapid City, take I-90 north towards Sturgis and take exit 32. Proceed onto Junction Ave; the trail begins on the left at the intersection with Ballpark Road.
