Bear Trap Creek Bikeway follows the creek of the same name between Ley Creek Drive and the Mattydale Shopping Plaza. For most of its length it parallels Interstate 81, with a fence separating the track from the highway. The trail is 8 feet wide and used for jogging, walking dogs and bike rides. While the path is flat and easy to use, its proximity to I-81 means that there's noise from passing cars.
There's parking on Ley Creek Drive. Follow 1-81 N to 7th N St. in Salina. Take exit 25 from I-81 N. Continue on 7th N. St. Drove and turn left onto Ley Creek Drive. The parking lot will be on your left.
The creek is pretty nice, but overshadowed most of the way by the adjacent noisy interstate. Also, much of the asphalt has tree roots running under it, causing the trail to be quite bumpy.
