Beginning less than half a mile from downtown, the Bessemer City Park Trail offers a quiet natural retreat. The 1.3-mile route begins at the basketball court in Bessemer City Park and quickly dives into the park's woodlands. Many other recreational amenities are available within the park, including tennis courts, a playground, and a community pool.
The trail is part of a larger effort called the Carolina Thread Trail, which spans 15 counties across North and South Carolina.
Parking is available at the north end of the trail in Bessemer City Park (220 South 14th Street, Bessemer City).
