Meandering along the Penobscot River in downtown Bucksport, the mile-long Bucksport Waterfront Walkway is popular with both local residents and visitors. There are historic plaques placed along the brick path, which is lined with a variety of plants and flowers. Public restrooms are located at each end of the walkway with gazebos and water fountains providing places to rest and refresh. Downtown Bucksport offers a number of restaurants and local businesses. Towards the northwest end, the trail runs parallel to the railroad.
Parking is available at a number of locations along the trail. View the TrailLink map for all options and detailed directions. Parking locations include a gravel lot on Steamboat Wharf Lane, two paved lots by the Bucksport Historical Society (92 Main St), a large paved lot by behind the Bucksport Town Recreation Department (50 Main St), and a paved lot by Bucksport Veterans Park (3 Pine St) that that several accessible spaces.
I love the waterfront it’s such a beautiful area and the scenery along waterfront is awesome
