Bunkerville Bicycle and Pedestrian Trail is a 2.5-mile non-motorized pathway paralleling State Route 170 between Bunkerville and the City of Mesquite. The trail offers a safe conduit for commuting and recreating between the two municipalities. It was thoughtfully designed for its setting: because of how high the temperatures can soar during the day, the trail features shaded benches placed at regular intervals. It’s also well-lit, so that trail users can utilize the pathway in the coolness of the evening. Three trail bridges take users over washes, and keep them above flooding.
Parking is available on the west end of the trail in the Thomas Leavitt Park and at the adjacent Community Center.
Location: Mesquite, NV
Parking: Parked on side street close to start of trail in Mesquite. Wide street with plenty of room to park.
Trail Condition: Most excellent! Very wide concrete and great condition.
Signage: Look down…trail name and distance stamped into concrete at different intervals.
Comments: TrailLink trail map is incorrect at the Bunkerville end of trail. Trail continues along the highway and not into town as indicated by map. The trail then ends at N 2nd W street. The streets of Bunkerville have recently been repaved and looks like a pretty quiet place, so easy enough to ride in town but that isn’t the trail. This is a nice trail, with a historical marker off the side of the trail indicating the area was part of the Old Spanish Trail.
Nice easy walk. Along state highway but enjoyable.
