Cattail Trail provides a pleasant route through West Lafayette, beginning in Pickett Memorial Park and winding north, making connections to the Purdue University campus. Along the way, you'll travel through a mix of open spaces and woodsy coverage, and pass residential neighborhoods and two golf courses.
A not-to-miss stop is the Lilly Nature Center, where the trail crosses Lindberg Road; there you'll find interesting information on the wildlife of the surrounding Celery Bog Nature Area.
Parking is available at the southern end of the trail in Pickett Memorial Park (off W. Stadium Avenue) and midway at Lilly Nature Center (1620 Lindberg Road).
Cons: zero markings and multiple options made it somewhat stressful to navigate so I would not recommend it. At least half is by roads. Pros: good pavement. Partly next to Purdue campus. Small section of Cattail marsh was pretty.
A nice area to run, bike, and walk. Mixed open and wooded areas from Purdue and WL parks.
