The City of Chaska has a number of multi-use paths and trails. Following Chaska Creek, this 2-mile paved path curves around the west side of the city's downtown to meet the Minnesota River. Heading southeast from its northwest end at the dead-end of West 5th Street, the trail crosses West 1st Street, passes by Hickory Park (115 S Hickory St) and Chaska Athletic Park (725 W 1st St), and ends by Winkel Park where Chaska Creek meets the Minnesota River.
From here, there are a number of nearby trails for those who want to extend their adventure or who have a specific destination in mind. A Chaska City trail continues along the south edge of downtown before curving around the east side and heading north. The City's connected network of trails creates multiple continuous routes for navigating the area, which includes a number of smaller paths and trails that provide both greater connectivity between communities and an alternative means for both recreation and commuting. There are even some fun loop trails, like the Courthouse Lake Loop.
Parking is available near the north end of the trail at Firemen's Park (3210 Chaska Blvd). Along the route, there is parking at Chaska Athletic Park (725 W 1st St). At the trail's southern end, parking is available at Winkel Park. There are accessible spaces at Firemen's Park. The other two parks have large unpaved parking lots.
