Overview
Following the Columbia River, the Waterfront Renaissance Trail is a 5-mile route of paved paths and sidewalks that connects downtown Vancouver and the waterfront.
About the Route
From its eastern end in the Wintler Community Park, the Waterfront Renaissance Trail meanders west, paralleling the Columbia River. The park has a beach, picnic tables, parking and seasonal restrooms.
Winding through woods and wetlands, the trail passes the Tidewater Cove Marina and the City of Vancouver Water Resources Education Center, which has parking, restrooms, drinking fountains, and fun exhibits for the whole family.
Continuing east, the trail heads through Marine Park, which has parking, picnic tables, seasonal restrooms, drinking fountains, a playground, and access to the Kaiser Viewing Tower and a boat launch. The trail is 1.5 miles long between Wintler Community Park and Marine Park.
Sidewalks along SE Columbia Way and SE Columbia Shores Boulevard connect Marine Park and the next section of the trail, which resumes at the Wendy Rose statue as a paved pathway running along the river. The trail enters the Vancouver Waterfront Park, passes under the I-5 Bridge, and uses sidewalks along Columbia Way to continue through the Vancouver Waterfront Park. The Vancouver Waterfront Park has restrooms, drinking fountains, picnic tables, a playground and the Grant Street Pier.
Along the way, the trail connects parks, public spaces, historical attractions, shops, restaurants, outdoor sculptures, and more.
The Columbia River Waterfront Renaissance Trail runs between Columbia Way (Vancouver) and Wintler Community Park, 6400 Beach Dr (Vancouver), where parking is available.
