The Coweeman River Trail follows the west side levee of its namesake river for 4 miles, giving access to the riverfront and Tam O'Shanter Park. The setting on the northern section is residential, and the trail crosses under Interstate 5 several times before entering an industrial park on the southern end. The trail also passes near Three Rivers Mall, which can be accessed from Manasco Drive or Grade Street.
The Coweeman River Trail runs between Evelyn Cir. (Kelso) and 3076 Talley Way (Kelso), there is no designated parking available for this trail.
Please see TrailLink Map for detailed directions.
We enjoyed walking on this trail. Many trails have plenty of shade and today we were seeking sun and this trail has it. Nearly full sun. The path is in great shape; gravel. Packed in some areas and a bit looser in others. We really enjoyed the view of the Coweeman River as we walked along. A good part of the trail follows I-5. We did not find the traffic to be a major disruption.
Lived 1/2 mile from the trail for 2 years and road it often. Nice local folks jog, ride and walk it regularly but never seems crowded. A new McDonalds near north end has good coffee and great service. Trail is 99% flat-- easy riding. Some wildlife, water fowl.
Followed the Coweeman River Trail on the dike on the west side of the river till I found it closed at 2 miles. Parking at Evelyn Circle Rd & Allen St ( N46.14470 W122.87920 ) Average Surface condition for 3 wheels. You may stop at the Dairy Queen just across Grade St. Noel Keller 5 Jul
