Overview
The Delaware River Heritage Rte. 130 Bypass Trail runs for a total of 5.7 miles. The trail route is paved with some shared concrete sidewalk paths.
About the Route
The trail heads northeast from the western Florence end, located in Roebling Park. This end of the trail also passes by the Roebling Museum which is dedicated to John Roebling the founder of the Roebling Steel Mill site, which the trail also passes. The former Roebling Steel Mill site was once used to make cables used to build the Golden Gate Bridge and elevators for the Empire State Building were once forged.
The middle of the trail verges away from the river briefly and meanders through Crystal Lake Park, and then through a tunnel beneath Route 130. Just after the tunnel, there is a signalized railroad crossing over light rail tracks.
The eastern end of the trail ends just after the Rte. 130 tunnel and leaves trail users in the village of Fieldsboro. There is no designated parking at this end.
The Delaware River Heritage Trail runs between Roebling Park (Roebling), where parking is available, and Rte. 130 (Fieldsboro).
