East Decatur Greenway Description

The East Decatur Greenway offers a pleasant outdoor experience and community connector in the Atlanta metropolitan area. The paved pathway begins across the street from MARTA's Avondale Station and winds its way south, flanked by trees and native plants. A rain garden sits adjacent to the trail and future plans include adding a wildlife habitat, pollinator garden and bird sanctuary.

For a longer journey, the 20-mile Stone Mountain Trail can be accessed just north of the Avondale Station. Travel west on that trail to head towards Atlanta, or east to reach Stone Mountain Park.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking is available on the trail's southern end on S. Columbia Drive.

You can also take MARTA's Blue Line train to reach the trail, arriving at the Avondale Station (915 E. Ponce de Leon Ave., Decatur) on the trail's north end. For more information, visit MARTA's website.
