The Northeast Trail is part of the Atlanta BeltLine, a network of trails around the city. When it's finished, the Northeast Trail will connect the northern end of the Eastside Trail to the Lindbergh MARTA station.
The section running alongside Piedmont Park, from Monroe Drive to Westminster Drive, is unpaved but open to the public with a compacted fine gravel surface. Once paved, it will be a multi-use trail and transit will run parallel to the trail along the railroad corridor.
The middle 1.2-mile section is open—from Ansley Mall to the Buford Spring Connector is paved and from Monroe Drive to Mayson Street is currently unpaved but still open for use.
The section from Mayson Street to the MARTA Lindbergh Station is in development and will include a connection with the PATH400 Greenway Trail.
Atlanta's public transit system provides access to the trail. Visit the MARTA website to plan your trip.
For those driving, there is paid parking at Piedmont Park. The garage is accessible on Worchester Drive off of Monroe Rd (1320 Monroe Dr) and at the Atlanta Botanical Garden entrance off of Piedmont Avenue (1345 Piedmont Ave NE). The first 30 minutes are free and the garage is cashless (card payment only).
