Foundation Trail Description

The picturesque Foundation Trail encircles the city of Black River Falls Wisconsin. It is a paved asphalt 10-ft wide trail that features bridges, benches, picnic tables and lights. It meanders around town following Black River and Town Creek.

It passes by a number of notable town attractions including the golf course, Lunda Community Park, the high school, fairgrounds and more.

Most of the trail is off-road, but there are two short sections that share the road. Where the trail ends at the Black River Area Chamber of Commerce, trail users can take S Water St. south until the trail starts up again a quarter-of-a-mile later. Where the trail ends at N 11th Street, trail users can continue south on N 11th Street, west on Van Buren St, and south again on N 14th St until the trail starts up again at Lunda Community Park.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking for the Foundation Trail is available at Foundation Park, 8th Street, the Chamber of Commerce, South First Street, Third Street and Lunda Community Park. See TrailLink Map for more information.

Foundation Trail Reviews

what a gem!

Love this little trail with meandering through the woods along the river. Asphalt is in good shape too.

Unique paved trail with about 10 separate waterfalls. Sitting benches and large white pine trees. Begins at visitor info center.
