The Glacial Hills Scenic Byway- South Atchison Trail is a 1.5-mile concrete recreation path along the iconic road as it cuts through the southern half of Atchison. The trail parallels the byway/US-75 between US-59 and Ravenhill Drive, for a 3 mile/ 5k trip out-and-back. Sitting on the east side of the road, the trail mostly slopes upwards from US-59, but that just means users can look forward to the payoff of downhill riding or walking after a hearty climb. Several businesses are located along the trail, and there's some housing not far from it. The green rolling hills the area is known for are still apparent on this urban portion of the byway.
There is no dedicated parking for this trail but you may be able to park at the businesses along it, so long as posted signage allows.
