The Heritage Trail Greenway is a multiuse path in Newton, North Carolina.
The first two phases of the trail are complete, stretching 1.5 miles from West 7th Street, winding through the wooded riparian corridor of Hildebran Creek before terminating on North Carolina 10 W. The trail is smooth, flat, asphalt, making it suitable for pretty much any kind of human-powered transport. The Heritage Trail is both a transport conduit for non-motorized commuters traveling between neighborhoods, and a leisurely escape for residents looking work out while enjoying nature.
The third phase of the trail will stretch down to Southside Park.
Parking is available at the West 7th Street trail entrance.
Really enjoyed this trail and the scenery. Bringing our twin daughters to ride next time.
Very pretty trail. Mostly wooded and follows a stream for most of the way. It's just shy of 3 miles round trip. I've heard there may be plans to extend it, hopefully that will happen.
Nice little trail that is half paved and half gravel. Some nice little hills to climb and drive down. Overall a pleasant experience.
