Statesville’s greenway system is still a collection of unlinked segments, but there are plans in place to build a truly connected non-motorized path network. Today, the discrete sections offer a variety of experiences for trail users: Between Statesville Middle School and Salisbury Road, there is a 0.37-mile greenway through the Andrews Natural Area. The Newtonville segment is 0.41 miles between Race and N Center Street. The Gregory Creek segment, including the loop, runs 2.71 miles. Fourth Creek Section is the longest linear section, and the only paved one (the rest are gravel). The trail stretches 2.2 miles from Free Nancy Avenue to East Broad Street and is adjacent to the Statesville Fitness & Activity and the Statesville Soccer Complex.
There is parking available along the different trail segments: To access Newtonville, parking is available at Mac Anderson Park (433 N Race St, Statesville). For the Gregory Creek section, parking can be found at Pump Station Road. To access Fourth Creek section, you might start at the Statesville Soccer Complex (, and parking can be found at a lot on E. Broad Street.
