The Hiouchi Flat Trail connects the Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park to the town of Hiouchi. It directly connects to the Jedediah Smith Campground. It is a gravel trail with a solid surface and little elevation change. From the campground, trail users can connect to a pedestrian bridge across the river, and access the rest of Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park and its numerous scenic locations and hiking trails.
On the eastern end of the trail, trail users can access cafes, lodging, and groceries in the town of Hiouchi.
Parking is available at either end of the route.
