The Hubbard Prairie Trail is a one-mile rail-trail extending between the northwest edge of the small town of Hubbard in central Iowa and the Meier Wildlife Refuge. The refuge offers a pleasant place to fish, kayak, or enjoy other outdoor activities.
The trail is constructed on the abandoned railroad right of way formerly operated by the Chicago Northwestern Railroad. The entire right of way is considered the "Hubbard Prairie" which has additional tracts along the right-of-way farther west, but this is the only stretch that has a trail constructed upon it.
Parking for the Hubbard Prairie Trail is located at the Meier Wildlife Refuge or along Highway 65 on the northwest side of Hubbard.
