Hunters Crossing and Brayton Garden Trails Description

The Hunters Crossing and Brayton Garden trails form a paved, multi-use greenway that extends 2.7 miles from the Country Square Shopping Center in Quakertown to Dovecote Drive immediately south of Brayton Garden Park. The trails converge at Trumbauersville Road and link several local subdivisions. The trail passes through woodlands on most of its route, providing cool relief from the summer sun. Notable sites include a historical stone home and a large wetland tucked away from the surrounding homes by forests and the ponds in Brayton Garden Park.

Although it currently serves as a community path, the Hunters Crossing/Brayton Garden trails will eventually be joined to the Barrel Run and Unami trails in neighboring Milford Township, the Saucon Rail Trail via the planned Northern Bucks County connection and the Liberty Bell Trail, forming a long-distance greenway that will extend from Allentown-Bethlehem to the Philadelphia metro area. It will also form a vital link in the Pennsylvania Highlands Trail, another long-distance path that will extend from the Delaware River to South Mountain.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking is available at the Country Square Shopping Center in Quakertown and along streets in the surrounding developments. No formal trailhead currently exists.

Hunters Crossing and Brayton Garden Trails Reviews

Nice relaxing Trail

Good relaxing trail, just started as a beginner and found this trail. Very easy but at the same time good exercise. Well maintained definitely recommend my go to home track for weekly exercise.

Great Family Ride

Had a little trouble finding a good spot to park and the trailhead in the shopping center off 309 so we decided to start at Blue Heron park. Once we got there it was very obvious where to go. My 5 y/o and I road the meandering trail with little incline through housing developments but it was still nicely wooded and spotted with lovely little ponds. Overall, we felt the trails were well maintained for us. We liked riding over the bridge and on the boardwalk. You do have to cross a busy road at one point but I felt we were visible enough to safely cross. It took us about an hour, there and back. We both had a great time. Bonus, there is a great playground my son was able to play on afterwards. Highly recommend this fun little ride for anyone with kids.

update from my 2017 review

While the trail is still very scenic considering how close it is to homes and businesses, the trail is in need of some TLC. There are cracks with gaps and cracks with bumps that run across the entire width of the trail making for a very bumpy ride. All of the bumps mean more time watching the trail and less time enjoying the scenery. Putting a coating of driveway sealer does nothing to smooth out the bumps.

relaxing and easy trail

My daughter and I went for a nice walk from beginning to end. Nice trail, easy and not crowded at all

Great short trail with others nearby

We rode the Saucon Valley trail from Hellertown then drove south to the Hatfield area to ride the Hunters Crossing/Brayton Garden trails plus the nearby Barrel Run Trail and the Unami Creek Trail. Other than being very short this is a scenic and well maintained trail.
