The bike path sits on the south side of Keaunui Drive, connecting residents to businesses, parks and trails in the Ewa neighborhood, west of the capital Honolulu. Riding from west to east, the trail begins as a wide concrete sidewalk at the intersection of Keaunui Drive with Kapolei Parkway, across from Laulani Community Park. The trail continues past a shopping center to Fort Weaver Road where it transitions into an asphalt path. (The Fort Weaver Road Bike Path continues north from this intersection). Running through residential subdivisions, the trail passes by the Hoalauna Community Park. The park is home to a popular dog park, and also includes a playground, benches and fitness stations. Its wide, grassy field hosts a range of activities from sports to picnics to community events like movies and Easter Egg hunts.
The Thomas H. Gentry Park marks the east end of the trail. Like the Houlauna Park before it, it also features a playground and an open field for active and passive recreation. The Thomas Gentry Community Center limits membership to residents of the subdivision.
There's not much shade to be found on along this trail, and there a number of street crossings so keep that in mind when going out. However, there are no inclines so it should be doable by users of all ages.
