Overview
The Lake Marion/South Creek Greenway is a planned 20-mile regional trail network that right now stretches 7.6 miles across two distinct segments in Burnsville and Lakeville MN. The trail network is planned to stretch between Farmington and the Mississippi River, north of Burnsville.
About the Route
The northern segment of the Lake Marion/South Creek Greenway leaves off from a neighborhood cul-de-sac called Glenhurst Ave. From here, the trail winds along Sunset Pond and past Rose Park, before heading west through Kelleher Park. The trail through Kelleher Park features an expansive boardwalk that spans the park's wetlands. This section of the trail stops just short of the Murphy-Hanrahan Park Reserve.
The southern segment of the trail leaves off in the north along 1-35 and immediately heads east through Casperson Park. The section of the trail south of Casperson Park is also called the Juno Trail. The Juno Trail heads along the west shore of Lake Marion. After the trail crosses 205th St. West, this section of the trail is called the Icalee Path. The easternmost section of the trail runs through neighborhood backyards and offers frequent sidepaths into different neighborhoods. The Lake Marion/South Creek Greenway comes to an eastern end at Howland Ave. NW
The Lake Marion/South Creek Greenway runs between Glenhurst Avenue (Burnsville) and Howland Avenue West (Lakeville).
