The Lone Mountain Trail is a Las Vegas runs four miles north to south. It's paved and mostly flat, welcoming to a variety of users ranging from walkers to joggers to cyclists. Despite its numerous street crossings and switches from sidepath to off-street pathway, the trail is well-signed and easy to follow. The trail also forms a continuous non-motorized links between a number of parks including (from north to south) W Wayne Bunker Family Park, Buckskin Park, Bettye Wilson Soccer Complex and Pioneer Park. At its southern end the trail connects to the perpendicular Bonanza Trail.
Park at W. Wayne Bunker Family Park (7351 W Alexander Rd, Las Vegas) or at any of the parks along the route.
I like this trail, couple cool lil parks, near home. Anyone think or know if it might actually go to lone mountain?
Wonderful Trail…but there was one woman 1/4 mile behind me having a very loud conversation for about 2 miles / straight on complaining about life. Didn’t enjoy that portion too much, but lots of little animal creatures to see on this trail!!
Growing up here in Las Vegas in the 70s was the greatest . I hope our new Nevadans and New Battle Born can truly appreciate it . There were very few trails growing up in LV . Not just (v) . but we made our trials . I probably dirt biked or road horses all through our (New) canyons where Lone Mountain sits now . It didn’t look so Lone back then . It’s a beautiful site to see and hike . Well done Nevada . Let’s keep Going
The signage is good from south going north, however once you get past lake meade there is a lack of signage and gets to be a guessing game as to which way you should go.
The signs are pretty straight forward until you get to two spots (located from South to North) SPOT #1 Navigating through Doc Romero park can be confusing since the signs are few and far between. When entering the park from the South, simply stay on the same sidewalk until it forks and then stay left. Follow the path past the restrooms and then do it again following the sidewalk until Cheyanne. SPOT #2 Once you approach Atwood Ave. (first street crossing North of Cheyanne), cross the street and make a right turn. Follow it until you reach Pioneer Way on the left hand side (2nd left once you turn onto Atwood). Follow Pioneer all the way to Gowan Rd.
I like that that takes you through so many parks but it’s pretty hard to figure out how to stay on the trail due to inadequate signage
