This north-south path runs alongside McKnight Road on the border of St. Paul and Maplewood. Starting on Larpenteur Avenue, this blacktop path travels past residential neighborhoods and shopping centers. It also provides access to recreation areas, including Beaver Lake, which has a park on its west shoreline and a paved walking path looping around it. The lake is popular with anglers for its sport catches including catfish, bluegill and largemouth bass.
In its southern half, McKnight Road bisects Battle Creek Regional Park into east and west sections. The west section features the paved Battle Creek Regional Park Trail, which in turn connects to the Sam H. Morgan Regional Trail. The east segment contains loops of paved and unpaved trails criss-crossing the park. At Lower Afton Road, the McKnight Road Trail intersects with another trail, heading east-west along that road.

Park at Battle Creek Regional Park on Upper Afton (2350 Upper Afton Rd, Maplewood). and ride west to McKnight Road.
The path is paved but in need of repair. It is fine for walking and perhaps running. Watch your step. It's a little rough for biking. The trail runs along McKnight Road, as the name implies. It's not very scenic. It can be loud at times.
