Medfield Rail Trail Description

Built along the former Bay Colony Railroad line, the Medfield Rail Trail stretches between Ice House Road in the Town of Medfield to the town's border with Dover. Running primarily through woods, the 1.3-mile trail crosses the North Brook and is open for walking, running, biking, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing. Generally 10-feet-wide, the trail is flat and smooth with a surface of reclaimed asphalt topped by a layer of stone dust. Dogs on leashes are welcome.

The trail is included in the Bay Colony Rail Trail, an extensive regional trail system that includes the Upper Falls Greenway.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking is available in a dirt lot across from the western entrance of the trail on Ice House Road, and along Farm Street near the eastern end of the trail.

Medfield Rail Trail Reviews

pleasant, easy walk

Easy walk from Medfield to Dover. Much of the path is paved, but into Dover, it still has rr ties; there is a cool, (1/4m?) tree tunnel.
