The Missouri Valley Millennium Trail is a joint venture between the cities of Bismarck and Mandan, on opposite sides of the Missouri River. On the Bismarck side the trail parallels the east bank of the river between Pioneer Park in the north and Sertoma Park in the south, at the Bismarck Expressway (I194).
Cross the river at either I-194 or Memorial Highway (I-94) to reach the Mandan side. From I-94 the trail heads south a short way to McKenzie Drive, paralleling Marina Road. From here you can pick up Mandan's Prairie West Trail (on the other side of I-194) and head back across the river over the Bismarck Expressway. Or you can head west toward Prairie West Golf Course or south to Borden Harbor Park.
In Mandan, park off Pirates Loop near Marina Road just south of the Expressway. In Bismarck, park at Pioneer Park off Burnt Boat Drive or at Sertoma Park (Dakota Zoo, 602 Riverside Park Rd.).
Mostly shaded and near the river. My favorite paved biking path.
