The trail starts on Green Level Church Road and then heads west past suburban homes, skirting the north side of Amberly Lake. You will cross Yates South Road via crosswalk, then continue south along Allforth Place. Make a left onto Carpenter Fire Station and take the first right to continue on the trail. Here, the trail passes behind rows of single-family homes. At Yates Store Rd. one branch of the trail heads back east, but the main branch continues south, paralleling Yates Store Rd for about 0.4 miles to the intersection with New Hope Church Rd. near the American Tobacco Trail.
Future plans will see the trail extended east, across the pedestrian underpass on Green Level Church Road and into the future Morris Branch Greenway Park.
There is no designated parking but there is ample on-street parking: on Carpenter Fire Station Road or Allforth Place. To access the trail from Yates Store Rd. you can park at Birrus Hall Circle and Ashdown Forest Lane.
You can find more parking options at the Town of Cary website.
