This connector trail links Mount Airy’s two most popular trails, elevating the experience on each by providing an uninterrupted 6-mile walk or ride along the three greenways. The v-shaped trail, which features a wooden bridge over Lovills Creek, picks up where the Ararat River Greenway leaves off in Tharrington Park, and joins the Emily B. Taylor Greenway at Worth St.
Park at Tharrington Park ((1501 W Wensley Dr) or at the trailheads for either of the adjacent trails:
Emily B. Taylor Greenway - Veterans Memorial Park (691 West Lebanon St)
Ararat River Greenway - Riverside Park (350 Riverside Dr)
In our small community we are so lucky to have these connecting trails to walk, jog and bike on. I just walked for six miles by the river and it was so nice and relaxing. Great job Mount Airy!
Great paved trail following the river around Mount Airy the real hometown of Andy Griiffin and the basis for Mayberry in his show. Plenty of parking at the trailheads.
