Newport Bike Path Description

The Newport Bike Path, sometimes called the First Mile Bikeway is a 1.7-mile path that runs through Newport, Rhode Island.

About the Route

The trail leaves in the south right near Newport's main drag of shops and restaurants and heads north. The trail then heads through the spacious Bramman Cemetery. North of that, the trail passes underneath the Newport Bridge and continues past the Newport Dog Park. The trail continues to follow Connell Highway until reaching W Main St. which marks the northern terminus of the trail.

Parking and Trail Access

The Newport Bike Path runs between W Main Rd. (Newport) and Gladys Carr Bolhouse Rd. (Newport).

There is no designated parking available for the route, but there is plentiful street parking surrounding the trail.
