Print Friendly MapThe Oil City Trail connects the Samuel Justus Recreation Trail and the McClintock Trail through the center of Oil City, Pennsylvania. The 2-mile walking and biking pathway runs along the Allegheny River and Oil Creek in Venango County. It mostly consists of on-street sections, but also includes off-street asphalt paths, and crosses two bridges, including a wooden railroad bridge. Trailheads with parking, restrooms and information can be found at the Oil City Marina at First Street & Wyllis Street on the South Side of town and at Justus Park, off Seneca Street on the North Side. The trail provides easy access to Oil City’s amenities, shopping & dining.
To access the Oil City Marina Trailhead (249 Park Rd, Oil City), beginning at State Route 8, cross the river at the Petroleum Street Bridge, turn right on West First Street. Continue for about half a mile, and then turn right onto Wyllis Street towards the Allegheny River. To get to the Justus Park Trailhead (1 Seneca St, Oil City), from the State Route 8 Bypass, turn onto Center Street. Cross the Center Street bridge and turn right on Seneca Street. The trailhead entrance is just before the State Street Bridge on your right.
The trail is marked as it passes through Oil City. It can be accessed from server city parking lots along the route.
