Padilla Bay Shore Trail Description

The Padilla Bay Shore Trail offers a paved route of just over 2 miles atop a dike along the Padilla Bay in Northwest Washington. Adventurers will enjoy the scenic natural setting only about 70 miles north of Seattle in the community of Bay View.

As the area is a national marine estuary, you may see peregrine falcons, snowy owls, blue herons, and many other types of birds along the trail. A viewing platform makes for a pleasant rest stop and a spiral staircase takes you down to the beach. Opposite the bay, travelers will also see picturesque rural landscapes.

The trail is just south of south of the 25-acre Bay View State Park, where you'll find camping sites and a public boat launch.

Parking and Trail Access

A trailhead parking lot is available at the trail's southern end off Bayview Edison Road, about 1 mile north of Memorial Highway (State Route 20). Parking is also available at the trail's northern end.
