A short, paved trail that forms a loop around Ravine Lake Park in northeastern Huron, the Ravine Lake Trail, together with its adjacent sibling Memorial Park Trail, provides residents of this small South Dakota city with a nice option for outdoor recreation and fun. Ravine Lake Park is a popular destination for paddle boating, mini golf, and any number of outdoor activities - the park has slowly developed since its creation during the Works Progress Administration into a great community asset, and the trail plays a key role in allowing park users to enjoy the full extent of the park. Take a detour along the northeastern end of the park to visit a pleasant gazebo and event space located on an island in the lake, accessible via footbridge, or follow the narrow, worn sidewalk along the south side of the highway to take a gander at a statue of the World's Largest Pheasant - a can't miss photo-op for anyone passing through town.
Parking is available on Easy Street, just west of Jersey Avenue in Huron.
