This east-west connector trail links the University Trail in the west to Spring Creek and Central Trails to the east of the city of Richardson. It passes residential areas, parks, schools and churches, making it a valuable asset for both recreation and transportation. It further connects to bicycle lanes along Custer Parkway and N Collins Boulevard. The path is 12-feet wide and runs along the south side of Renner Road for the first two miles. A tunnel takes riders under the N Central Expressway, where it intersects with the Spring Creek Trail. Here it shifts to the northern side of Renner Road for the rest of westward journey. It comes to an abrupt end in Fox Creek Park but restarts again at Wyndham Lane. There are a couple more disconnected segments as shown in the trail map. The final segment ends at Murphy Lane.
You can park at the following locations from west to east:
I like using this trail as a connection between Point North Park (far West end of trail) and Spring Creek Nature Area - about a 3 mi stretch. Easy to follow, bike and stroller friendly, a lot of the route is shaded too.
