The River Forest Road Trail sits atop the levee along the Cedar River on the west side of Evansdale, Iowa. (It's alternatively called the Cedar River Levee Trail for this reason.) The paved shared-use trail begins at Deerwood Park Road, just before the entrance to the park of the same name and continues north along the dike while offering unobstructed scenic views of the river before coming to its conclusion where it meets the popular 11-mile Cedar Valley Lakes Trail.
The trail starts on Deerwood Park Road, just 0.2 miles from that road's intersection with River Forest Road.
