The Tribute Shoreline Nature Trail is truly one of the most unique trails in all of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Once you get past the Old American Golf Club practice facilities and farther on the peninsula, you feel like you're in a national park. (Until then, note that the path is shared with golf carts for about the first mile. The netted areas and pylons mark the end of the practice green and the beginning of the fully non-motorized segment of trail). It's so peaceful and beautiful, and always changing with the season for a 'fresh' look every time you're out there. There's also interpretive signage along the way - great teaching opportunities for all ages. There are benches, trash cans and even picnic tables at the tip of the peninsula with an incredible view of the lake.
From the Dallas North Tollway, take Lebanon Rd west approximately 8 miles into The Tribute community. The trailhead will be on the left after passing all the residential areas, just past Haywick St.
We loved this hike. The wide trails so it was easy to pass other people on bikes or with dogs. Very clean. A hidden treasure. We loved it. Wish I would have found this before I lost my Golden he would have loved it.
Have not hiked in years. Great for a start. Loved it. Lots of open trail and even some shade. get here early if it is summer-- or you cook. apply sunscreen-- a must. Bathrooms shown are NOT available-- they have a pin code. plan ahead.
I parked at a dirt lot with a restroom and trash cans. It took me about an hour and half to leisurely walk the total distance of 4.42 miles. It has mile markers, benches to rest and “you are here” maps along the way.
This is a great trail with excellent scenery and views. It’s about 3 hrs round trip, all the way at the end is an awesome stretch if beach at the lake that is perfect for swimming with kids. Perfect fir a refreshing dip before heading back.
