Located in Worcester Township, the Zacharias Creek Trail is a an easy walk or ride along water, through riparian woods and across green fields. The trail begins on Green Hill road (where there is a small parking area) and heads east along the trail up to Hollow Road, where it begins to wind southwards. There are a couple of on-street sections on Hollow Road, as well as a crosswalk where the trail starts heads in the direction of Heebner Park, it’s other endpoint.
Note:In addition to walking and biking, equestrian use is allowed on designated portions of the trail. Contact the trail management for more details.
There is a small lot at the start of the trail on Green Hill Road.
This ~2 mile trail has a few pleasant sections along Zacharias Creek, but over a mile of the trail is on poorly maintained pathway that is rutty, with large patches of loose surface. Less than a mile is paved and of a nice walking/biking surface.
The trail is generally sufficiently wide to social distance, if passing folks walk single file, but that seldom happened, so please bring masks.
For the most part this is a very scenic trail. The trail now extends briefly beyond Green Hill Road and there are 2 parking areas at Heebner Park, one off of Heebner Road and the other off of South Valley Forge Road. There were clean, well maintained rest rooms at Heebner Park. The one improvement that I would like to see is better signage in the maze of trails.
