Scott Lancaster Memorial Bike Path

I know what you are thinking. It's a 5 mile trail it's hardly worth the drive. Idaho Springs has made an effort to improve the tourism in their historic town. The trail follows Clear Creek and winds through history. See a narrow gauge steam locomotive, a water wheel, a water fall and the historic district. This ride illustrates the the mineral belt and it's grand history. See how the west was won.

Bumpy workout

September, 2017 by dani.ann.anderson

Good workout but trail pretty bumpy in spots. Take caution as sand and gravel over asphalt periodically. Nice views along Clear Creek.

Fraser River Trail

itty-bitty signage!

August, 2017 by astroman

If you can find the 8" blue signs where the trail starts in Winter park, the first 2 miles are blacktop and really pretty traveling through a forested area with views of the creek and occasional benches to rest. The trail then becomes sidewalk through the busy touristy spots with nice food and beverage options, and LOTS of sidewalk traffic. Again, if you can see the tiny 8" blue sign, you can cross hwy 40 and continue on a blacktop trail for the remaining few miles. There is a great park along the way and this could be a nice stroll for a traveling family.

Good skate

August, 2017 by processing_tl

Good for an inline skate over distance. Some solid downhills and uphills. You will get some serious speed going on the final approach to Boulder. There are a few sharper turns to watch out for in other locations. 95% fresh, immaculate concrete.

Gradual incline was terrific!

August, 2017 by deb.goss

Had fun on this trail. I started in Erie, although I couldn't locate the trail head by using the directions on here, instead it took to me a residential neighborhood, so I parked there without upsetting homeowners.
Didn't notice the gradual incline, although there were two significant climbs, it wasn't until my return from Superior back to Erie did I notice the decent and FLEW back..... Awesome! Will definitely do this again!

High Line Canal Trail (CO)

Be aware of the Santa Fe area of the trail

July, 2017 by jeremy.barton

Approaching Santa Fe is where the trail seems to become really neglected. No crossing assistance whatsoever across Santa Fe is extremely dangerous. Once across Santa Fe heading SW, the trail is extremely rutted and then ends in the middle of nowhere with no signage or any instruction on how to get to the Chatfield section. This section appears to be run/managed by Denver Water but I would highly avoid this area until improvements are made.

Like riding through an outdoor museum

July, 2017 by johnrs2117

We started at the western parking lot and rode clockwise following the mile markers. A steady but slight uphill to the 5 mile marker. A downhill thrill ride all the way down to the parking lot. Beautiful scenery and with lots of information along the way. Almost like riding through an outdoor museum.
Well worth the ride. If you are just passing through Leadville, I would highly recommend taking an hour or so to ride this trail.
