Victor to Driggs Rail-Trail

Beautiful in the fall

September, 2025 by andersennewbold

I rode this trail the last weekend in September on an overcast morning, and loved it! I loved the rural feel and the colorful mountains in the distance. The last mile or two we biked through a canopy of yellow trees on a winding path. Gorgeous!

Excellent trail. Fields, hills, cows, trestle bridges; full 30 miles end to end! Was warm when we rode however there is shade along the way.

Yellowstone Shortline Trail

YST

We rode this with my 10 year old son and 9 year old niece. Very family friendly ride with a picnic at the turnaround and some creek dipping on the way back. Beautiful scenery and a great way to cover 20 miles.

Loved the Shortline Trail

July, 2025 by william heck

My wife and I rode the Shortlineline trail on a recent visit to Yellowstone. We had a terrific time. The scenery was breathtaking. Especially the parts of the trail that ran next to the South Fork of the Madison river. The trail ascends at a very gentle 1% to 3% grade. But we were super impressed with how well maintained the trail is and the informational signs along the way were excellent and very interesting. Personally, we were kind of grateful that E bikes are not permitted on the trail. I’m sure that’s somewhat controversial, but it definitely meant that this experience for us was extremely peaceful and quieted our souls.

Yellowstone Shortline Trail

Beautiful ride

First, it states on here that no e-bikes are allowed. One of the staff at the campground we were staying, said she sees e-bikes on it all the time. So, we took our chances. Yes, there are several signs stating no e-bikes. We kept our speed around 10 mph, and always pedaled. Very peaceful and beautiful trail. We saw a coyote and a deer. Riding along the shoreline of the river was serene.

Ashton-Tetonia Trail

Scenic ride thru fields

July, 2025 by paulz

I started in Tetonia. If I were to do it again, I would start in Ashton. The gentle elevation change is upwards from Ashton for a few miles. The Tetons are in your view in that direction. There is very little shade on the trail. The trail is hard dirt and gravel. Gravel bikes or mtn bikes suggested. No services on the trail. Traveling thru Ag country mostly flat. Biggest hills are on the detour road.

Railroad Right-of-Way Trail

Warm River Campground up the Canyon

June, 2025 by paulz

Coming From Warm River Campground, the Trail goes up gently 3.5 miles to the collapsed Tunnel. The trail continues till about mile 6 all along with great views of the river and deep canyon. I continued riding till about mile 12.5 and returned. After about mile 6, the trail leveled off and continued thru cattle pastures and flat land with 2 ponds. The trail was mostly hard dirt with gravel. A Gravel bike or Mountain Bike would be suitable bike. No services or water on the route.

North Pathway

Bear Gulch Beauty

October, 2024 by jeff.steele

We’re from TN vacationing in YNP Decided to see Mesa Falls & ride the trail since Bear Gulch Trailhead was approx 4-miles from Mesa Falls. Trail was beautiful. Almost as pretty as Route of Hiawatha. We had Mtn Bikes with zero problems.

North Pathway

Best biking in a National Park!

August, 2024 by joglazewski

Fabulous views, wildlife , car free connections to campgrounds, trailheads, restaurants, Jackson trail system!!! 10 ft wide paved trail ( section near airport getting lumpy and could use attention) . Connects to Jenny Lake Scenic Road’s dedicated bike lane, and awesome quiet back roads. IMO the best biking in the US!
