Legacy Loop

Not what I expected!

September, 2019 by reierson

We began our ride from the southern endpoint. Much of the trail is gravel, not concrete - not ideal for road bikes. There is a lot of garbage and debris along the trail. There is a large homeless population living along the trail. Lots of room to improve the experience for riders. I won’t do this trail again.

Templeton Gap Trail

pictures are misleading

Nice surface well maintained sidewalk. All exposed no shade. Winds through an industrial area past the power plant. The connection to the trails across Nevada is hidden and hard to find.

Manitou Incline

Childhood trail

Growing up in COS, I had taken many rides on the cog rail train, down was always better than up!
Then I found out years later that the train had closed :-( and they turned it into a trail :-)… it's a walk, and now that I'm from FL-it's a real walk!

Mesa Valley Trail

Pleasent urban trail

April, 2019 by gambeli02

For a trail bike, this is a short trail for people who don't need nor want a challenge. The only part that gives me trouble is a rutted, steep grade down to the Mesa Creek. Other trail bikers can manage it, but I can't keep my tires in a good track and I end up walking the bike down. :p

There's wildlife to see, a creek, and varied landscapes from large cottonwood and willow stands, to desert hills, and a swamp at its lower end into Sondermann Park.

The trail is listed for foot, bike, and horse usage only. Unfortunately, it is not marked as limited usage nor blocked off from the motorcycle and 4 wheeling tracks that run to the north. Be aware that they sometimes spill onto the this trail.

Arkansas River Trail (Pueblo)

The Arkansas River section goes 3 miles beyond what TrailLink shows, and the Fort Creek section adds another 5 miles, all excellent concrete surface. See https://www.pueblo.us/314/Pueblo-River-Trail-System for a nice PDF map.

Sinton Trail

Saturday morning walk

Great trail. I walk my German Sheppard on this trail. You can see all kinds of wild life. Trail is through Housing areas and runs north and south. There are a lot of bicyclists on the trails.

New Santa Fe Regional Trail

Great trail

January, 2018 by philcavinta

My wife and son rode from North gate to Palmer Lake and back. It’s a good track that’s relatively flat as compared to section 16 that my son and I normally ride. Recommend this section for and easy ride.

Rock Island Trail (CO)

Fantastic from Union to Powers

December, 2017 by 8 wheel transit

Wide concrete trail from Union east to Powers. Several sections were recently reconstructed. There are a few street crossings and an underpass at Circle Dr.

Pikes Peak Greenway Trail

Great on two wheels, south end good for trikes

July, 2017 by biomom1954

Road this trail on both my bike and trike. North of the bike shop was uncomfortable on the trike due to the very uneven narrow paved surface. South of the bike shop the trail has been reworked and is wider and smoother. Much better surface for trikes to share the trail.

Midland Trail

New Asphalt on Naegele Road

May, 2017 by 8 wheel transit

Update May 2017: New pavement on Naegele Road (US 24/Cimmarron St. Frontage Road) between 21st St. and 25th St.!

Pikes Peak Greenway Trail

Standard urban trail

April, 2017 by astroman

Entering at Woodman Rd, we rode about 5 miles south. Convenient bike shop about .5 miles in. It's a pretty typical urban paved trail through industrial area along a stinky stream.

New Santa Fe Regional Trail

bike handling practice

April, 2017 by astroman

We parked at the Pikes Peak Greenway TH and rode the southern 10 miles out and back. Bathroom and water were still closed for the season here on April 16th, 2017 after a month of 70 degree weather. Gradual uphill in this direction but the rolling hills make it tough to realize the accumulated elevation. The trail runs relatively close to the freeway, but often seems on a distant prairie with frequent nice views of Pikes Peak. Trail surface is deep sand, loose gravel, with rolling hills.
