Oklahoma River Trails

Nice Clean, Scenic Trail

October, 2025 by rodney7karen7

We parked at the Regetta Park Landing. We immediately crossed over to the south side of the river and headed east. Nice smooth surface with open view of river and dowtown OKC. Turned back at the end and headed west and crossed over to north side of river at Portland Ave and headed east back to Regetta Park. This is also near canal walking trail which is very nice area. Overall a wonderful ride with great open views of the river and downtown. Well kept trail.

South Grand Trail

Could Be Much Better

October, 2025 by rodney7karen7

We connected from OK River trail on the northwest end of this trail. Immediately noticed a lot of glass throughout the trail. This was probably once a nice trail but now there are homeless camps along wooded and grassy areas, trash everywhere and just dirty. I did not really want to stop even if there were places to rest. Trail goes through a couple of parks. One, Woodson Park, really nice which was the highlight of the trip regarding cleanliness and good facilities. OKC, you need to invest in those trucks that suck up trash and clean up this trail!

Oklahoma River Trails

Thorny

August, 2024 by xgqrms2jbn

I rode the Oklahoma River Trail in August 2024. I started at the access at 15th and Portland and rode east. The trail looked great, nice and wide and things were going smoothly until 3.5 miles in my rear tire went flat. There was a large thorn in the tire. I noticed more of them stuck in the front and rear tires. I fixed my flat and immediately turned around. I'm not sure how the north side of the river is but I suggest thorn proof tires on the south side.

Not much

I was raised in Lawton so while visiting relatives I wanted to check this trail out. There isn't much here and it's very short. Not a trail you would travel to see.

West River Trail (OK)

This is a nice trail for bikers and hikers. Relatively flat, with some shade and some scenic views. The trail winds behind some industrial areas but it was always clean and safe.

Oklahoma River Trails

Paved,great views,confusing river crossing, homeless

May, 2023 by christine.wentworth

We rode 20 miles round trip beginning at the Trailhead near the Bass Pro Shop & the Westward expansion bronze statues. We had a map that depicted how we could ride the north & south sides of the river and where to cross however the river crossings were not marked well on either side of the trail and caused us a lot of time and stress trying to find them. We travelled west on the north (city) side of the border with trail and crossed the river at the first bridge ¿ about 8 miles. There was a sizeable homeless encampment about 1 mile before the bridge and when we crossed the street bridge a homeless person’s unleashed dog startled us with barks & growls. There were no obvious signs on

Great scenery, proximity to restaurants, a park, a bookstore, and the library.

Ride southeast from Regatta Park

April, 2022 by bluegrasslass

Overnight in OKC with our cruisers. Smooth, paved trail with little change in elevation. Windy in April, and on the north side of the river lots of highway noise. So, nice path along the River, but otherwise not very interesting. Path not busy but cyclists who passed us gave no warning.

West River Trail (OK)

Better than no trail

September, 2021 by knowingmotherdoula

The pros: felt safe, not crowded, convenient location, relatively wide and flat, good graffiti

The cons: very hot and sunny, not scenic, industrial with construction and service truck parking lots, lots of stinky smells including the North Canadian River, can hear the roar of the highway
