The trail is very close to a busy US Hwy 2 for almost the entire trail. Very noisy, and even feels dangerous. The only positive thing about this trail is how smooth it is.
The path is brand new and very nicely done. The concrete pathway is 10 foot wide and very flat and smooth. The trail is lighted at night and perfect for an evening stroll. Great place to take children.
Enjoyed the trail. Rode from Eureka to Rexford. First portion (half nearly) of the trail is old railroad bed until it comes to an abrupt end. Directional signs are non-existent but most of the trail is easy to follow, with an except. At the end of the railroad bed section the trail passes by a primitive camping area. At that point leave the trail to the left and follow gravel road up the hill to the highway. Follow highway to right maybe a half mile. Turn right again on to first gravel road through an area of houses. The road is posted private road for residents. Follow downhill staying left until end and pickup trail off the side of the road. Easy to follow from there past the Rexford Bench Campground area. Trail very nice to the end. There are some information panels about the trail and projects.
Back in Kalispell and rode first thing on Saturday morning. Very little traffic on the streets and on trail. Still a very nice short trail that connects to other trails on the west end. Will ride again and connect to other trails for a longer ride. Enjoyed this one.
I set out at Somers and the first mile or two were fantastic. It seemed however that most of the trail after that follows hwy 93 which is a very busy 4 lane highway and the trail is only maybe 30 feet from the road. Very noisy and you do have to cross over several driveways. If not for it being such a beautiful Montana day I would probably rated this trail 3 stars.
We started in Eureka and when we got to the part where is shows the trail over the water, there was no way to cross the river, it dead ends. We took the road to the left and it took us through dispersed camping but the roads were so rough, we decided not to go further. It was just too rough for us. If it stayed the trail it would have been wonderful.
Back in Kalispell and needed to take a ride. Started at Meridian Road and went west towards Kila. Turned around at Batavia. Homeless under the first bridge and another guy parked truck on trail near bridge. Otherwise nice ride until it goes along busy Hwy 2. Just noisy along that part. A number of folks out on Sunday morning.
From Kalispell to Somers Most of the time followed Hwy 93 which was noisy. Loved it when the path was further away from the highway and closer to Somers. Somers is a nice quaint town, had lunch at Dels and was back in Kalispell in no time on our e-bikes.
Rode the entire trail since it was an easy connection to the Northwest Historic trail. There are some homeless who hang around but it’s a beautiful trail. Parked at the end opposite to the Historic trail to add to it.
Love how wide and easy to follow this path is. Stayed near Coram for the summer and ride this to Hungry Horse and to West Glacier. The traffic is noisy, not much scenery because it follows the highway. You do have to go around a couple of spots but we still enjoyed it. I wouldn’t classify this trail as scenic.
Rode this trail in 2022, not sure why I didn't submit a review. Headed back to Kalispell soon and most certainly will ride once again. Great improvement to the city and nicely done trail. Fun to see the engine on display and ride through Depot Park. Easy connection at West end to the Great Northern Historical Trail for a much longer ride.
