The Kalispell Parkline Linear Park and Trail is a multi-use, accessible, paved pathway running west from Flathead Drive, under U.S. Highway 2/East Idaho Road and through downtown Kalispell to North Meridian Road.
Creating a connected route through town, this pathway offers scenic views of historic buildings and the Swan and Mission Ranges. Midway along the route, the trail passes Kalispell's visitor center, the Flathead County Veterans Memorial, the former Great Northern Railway Depot (a historical landmark), and Depot Park (which has a gazebo, benches, trees, and grassy areas for recreation).
Open to walkers, bikers, and runners, this dog-friendly pathway links with the Great Northern Historical Trail at western end of the trail. E-bikes up to class 1 are allowed on the trail.
At its eastern end, the trail ends near the paved 1-mile loop Woodland Trail. Also known as the Woodland Park Trail, the multi-use pathway loops around Woodland Pond and is located off of Woodland Park Drive.
The trail runs through three distinct downtown districts: the Granary District, marked by the old CHS silos now under development; the Downtown District from Fifth Avenue to Third Avenue crossing U.S. Highway 93; and the Park District which passes above Woodland Park. West end of trail connects with the Great Northern Historical Trail. Trail is wide with many overhead lights and crossing signals at all street crossings.
Parking is available at a number of locations along the trail. View the TrailLink map for all options and detailed directions. Locations include parking lots at the eastern end of the trail off of Flathead Drive, by the Woodland Park Trail, midway along the trail at Depot Park (15 Depot Park), and near trail's western end at Fenn Way (which can also be reached from 2nd Street West).
Rode the entire trail since it was an easy connection to the Northwest Historic trail. There are some homeless who hang around but it’s a beautiful trail. Parked at the end opposite to the Historic trail to add to it.
Rode this trail in 2022, not sure why I didn't submit a review. Headed back to Kalispell soon and most certainly will ride once again. Great improvement to the city and nicely done trail. Fun to see the engine on display and ride through Depot Park. Easy connection at West end to the Great Northern Historical Trail for a much longer ride.
