Fair Trail, shorter than description

May, 2025 by 4csmiley

The trail is fair for a greenway trail. Not all that scenic, but if you are looking for a quick short ride ( about 6 miles), this may work. However note that the bridge is currently washed out cutting off the last mile or so of the trail.

Beautiful ride for a spring day

April, 2025 by askrens

I started at the south trailhead and did an out and back for a total of 22 miles. The southern half of the trail is definitely in better condition, but my gravel bike did fine on everything. Rapeseed was blooming,as were the red buckeyes. saw several other cyclist and two groups on horseback. Wonderful to see people out on such a beautiful day.

Easy, Flat Trails

October, 2024 by let3322

We went on a weekday and there were not many people on the trail which made it very pleasant and enjoyable. The trail is very well maintained with flat surfaces. This is a wonderful scenic trail with a few bridges over running creeks, plenty of tree lined portions and a wildlife center along the way. We parked at the Harpeth Valley Golf course and started from there as the soccer field parking lot was closed that day. Lovely experience for all ages and levels.

Harpeth River Greenway

peaceful, serene and not too crowded

October, 2024 by covenantdga

Have ridden most of the greenway trails in and around Nashville and the Harpeth River Greenway is one of my favorites. Can start your ride at either end (Bellevue or at Edwin Warner Park). Not too crowded except, as expected at the beginning of the trail but it thins out the further you get away from the parking lots. Of course on beautiful sunny fall or spring days, particularly on the weekends, you will find dodging walkers and runners, but that is expected on most greenway trails in and around Nashville. At a more advance age with mobility issues, I like the fact that the trail is flat and mostly covered, except for the portion on the west side of the trail. But in my younger years you could get your heartbeat up by deviating into either Percy of Edwin Warner Pasks

The north end has a historic b&b. Elkmont in 1/2 way with nice places and a nice side ride through pre civil war houses. Packed gravel. Could use some smoothing but we did 21 mile out and back on ebikes with no problem. All shady

Rougher on the Elkmont to Tn line but still nice. The other side was really good with slight elevation.

Great trail

I love this trail, me and friends have taken my horses here many times and it’s always been so nice, the trails are great for horses other than the few times you have to cross the roads.

Nice Ride on a Hot Fall Day

September, 2022 by whit.w.5918_tl

Was passing through and decided to stop and ride North to South with an added lollipop head on the roads around Athens. Trail was great; I was dreading the heat (upper 80s) but the shade kept things nice and cool!! Surface was a bit rough in places, so not a road bike trail, but a hybrid, mountain bike or gravel bike (my choice) will work well.

Would love to see this trail extended, both south and north.

Beautiful and bumpy

June, 2022 by catherinebogdon

I’m glad I read the reviews before deciding which bike to bring—it’s pretty bumpy. It’s beautifully secluded when riding on a weekday morning. I only saw two pedestrians and two equestrians during my ten mile ride. It’s completely shaded, nice for a summer ride. There’s a pristine (but a little creepy) swamp on the east side of the trail three miles from the southern trailhead at Coffman-Mitchell Park, and goes for half a mile. Looking east you can’t see where it ends. Gorgeous, but remember to bring insect repellent! Will definitely ride it again, starting g at the halfway point in Elkmont. Elkmont

Great Trail

This is a great trail! It has access to the Warner Parks trails, lots of neighborhoods with bike lanes and low traffic. Study the local map and you can loop around and easily get in 20 - 30 miles.

East Side of Trail

August, 2021 by margaret.anne0222

We parked across the street from the driving range and took a left onto the trail. We found the far East side of the trail quite disappointing. You walk alongside a busy road most of the time and when you think you’re finally heading down towards the woods, the path dead ends. Next time, we plan to go West towards Percy Warner where I am sure there is better scenery. Of note, the asphalt was in good condition and it was an easy place to walk with a stroller.
