Bridges over Dorchester County

September, 2020 by benbowne

Scenic ride by and over water. Three playgrounds along the way. Good spots to stop and fish and/or picnic.

Georgetown-Lewes Trail

Rode the entire trail and back with the family. It was a bit tiring towing the little ones behind me but the whole family had a blast!

Middle Township Bike Path

Not pleasant

September, 2020 by montclairrich

We started at the Cape May Zoo (north end of the path). The path consists of an asphalt strip, straight as an arrow in a 60' wide clearing filled with dead vegetation and between 2 rows of high voltage utility poles. The path was closed 2 miles in and we were forced to detour along busy Route 9. After we found our way back to the path, it was closed again a mile farther South. It was the same story - closed for construction with no Detour signs. We gave up at that point. Maybe someday the path will be re-opened and it will have nice plantings. But for now - go elsewhere.

Prickly Pear Trail

Horseshoe Crab Graveyard

September, 2020 by benbowne

Peaceful forested ride out to a point overlooking the bay where you will encounter a horseshoe crab “graveyard” due to tidal conditions. Easy path conditions for our kids (11 & 7).

Cross Island Trail

Flat easy riding, scenic, shaded & sun, porta potty

September, 2020 by flyway50

I was just at the trail this tuesday 9/8/2020 and unfortunately most of the trail was closed due to maintenance. They have been repaving the trail and it's awesome !
They had no warning of this closure until I was about 3 miles into it, then the trail was blocked off and marked closed.

Wildwood Crest Bike Path

Nice Ride

September, 2020 by paula.severance

Ride this in combination with the boardwalk and path to second avenue. Makes the total ride almost 4 miles each way

Georgetown-Lewes Trail

Road from Tall Pines to Lewes and back, plan on making it longer by continuing on the Breakwater trail. Nice ride and mostly cars stopped and let you cross.

Middle Township Bike Path

closure alert

August, 2020 by atunahoagie

Rode this a few days ago (Fri 8/21) and encountered closure at Goshen Road. Was turned back by a worker. Heavy equipment (crane or drilling?) present. Told completion end October.

Rode again Sun and barrier extended across the path to the grass on both sides. I didnt bother to see if I could portage across the work zone.

Nice well-paved trail. Pretty quiet. Not heavily used. Users polite. Everyone moves over on their side. Dog owners choke up on the leash on approach. Good for birdwatching as well w lots of woods in the upper portion.

Kent Island South Trail

Newly re-paved, scenic trail

August, 2020 by biing52

The trailhead at Matapeake State Park has free parking. The trail is very smooth being recently re-paved. The trailhead at Romancoke fishing pier is quite scenic, need to pay to park there. We also biked the Cross Island Trail, also recently re-paved. We also enjoyed this trail very much but it crosses many roads, drivers are very considerate waiting for us to cross. The trails have bike sheriffs who offer assistance to trail users.

Middle Township Bike Path

Goes further than the map

August, 2020 by elisa.kreisinger

The trail goes all the way to Cape May. At the very end of the trail, cross the busy intersection (they are nice to bikes) and go left towards the bridge. There are bikes lanes on both sides. 2 miles in is the beach. Great ride. 30 miles there and back if you do the full trail to the beach.

Middle Township Bike Path

Nice for inline skating

July, 2020 by jreungoat

I skates about two thirds of it starting at the zoo. The asphalt wasn't great at the start but it quickly became smooth. A few crossings at the start too but then there are decent length sections without any. It's mostly not along a road, which is nice too.

Middle Township Bike Path

Fully paved, very little traffic. Very flat as well. Only down side is very little air movement so it ended up being quite humid.
