Trailhead and parking available on SR 948, north of Ridgway. A restroom is available at the trailhead. The trailhead is plowed in the winter.
Went on a hike with a couple friends.
Nice and peaceful.
Lots of Birch, Beech, Maple, Hemlock trees, and I'm sure others.
It was mostly those listed tho.
There were a few trees down from windy weather.
You'll have to climb over/under or go around.
Big Mill Creek is nice, and so is the little run that flows into it.
We didn't hear very many birds, and didn't see any deer or anything.
Maybe next time.
We took most of the trails;
Spent all morning and early afternoon there exploring.
We found the brick spring house, pretty neat.
I live close to this trail so I frequent often. There are multiple loops to accomidate different levels of skiing and hiking. It is very scenic since it runs along Mill Creek. There is also a connecting trail along a rail road grade to Twin Lake State Park. It is a little rough for skiing since the RR ties are still in the ground. Better to ski on the loops for easy access along the creek or tougher trails up and down the hills. Hunting in this area to wear orange in season. I think there is last harvest fishing in Mill Creek but you need to check this out on your own.
There is at least one geocache along the trail... HAVE FUN!
