The Alpha Loop is an eight mile walking and biking trail that will connect economic and recreation centers in and around Alpharetta, Georgia. The loop, actually consists of two loops - an inner 3 mile route, and an outer 5.3 mile loop. The Alpha Loop might someday connect to the wider regional trail network, by connecting to the Big Creek Greenway. While the Alpha Loop's completion is years away, the first mile is complete. This segment connects downtown Alpharetta to Avalon. This scenic pathway also winds through three local parks: Brooke Street Park; Thompson Street Park and Avalon Fitness Park.
There is a public parking garage, across Park Plaza from the Alpharetta Library (10 Park Plaza). Walk to Haynes Bridge Road, heading north to the beginning of the trail. You may also be able to park at the library itself.
