The Lower Roswell Trail is a 2.8-mile dedicated sidepath in Marietta, Georgia. The asphalt pathway begins at the top of Lower Roswell Road (at Willeo Road) and runs through pristinely landscaped suburban neighborhoods, with a connection to the Gold Branch hiking trails in the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area (NRA) in the upper half of the trail.
At its southern endpoint, it also provides access to commercial Marietta with a wide range of businesses.
Cobb and Fulton Counties will be re-doing the bridge on Willeo Road and constructing a new bike lane as well as a dedicated trail to extend the Roswell Riverwalk up to the Lower Roswell Trail. Right now, though it is a short on-street ride up Willeo Road to the Riverwalk.
Closest parking to the Willeo Rd/Timber Ridge Rd/Lower Roswell Rd intersection is at the Gold Branch trailhead in the Chattahoochee River NRA ( 6156 Lower Roswell Rd). Alternatively you can park at Willeo Park on Willeo Rd but there are no trails or sidewalks on that road. You can also park at the ParkAire Triangle Shopping Center. Be sure to observe any posted rules when parking.
If you start on the East end, it is a bit of a tough hill to climb out of the valley. Mostly uphill Westbound but some flat spots to gather yourself. Many restaurants await you at the West end. Going East it is mostly downhill, especially at the end. You can continue on East and South along the 7 mile Roswell Riverwalk Trail to add to your ride.
Easy to use paths and connects seamlessly with Roswell River trail!
