Annie Jones Greenway provides a natural escape in the middle of the city. The trail goes through woods, and past streams for a short, though serene journey. The trail begins on SW Cary Parkway and travels north before it forks into east and west branches. The west branch leads to the Scottish Hills Recreation Club and Annie Jones Park. The segment of the trail from Annie Jones to its emergence point at McCloud St. is unpaved. The rest of the trail is asphalt. The eastern branch travels through the wooded corridor to Gatehouse Drive.
The trailhead can be found at Annie Jones Park (1414 Tarbert Dr.) The park has a range of amenities sports fields, picnic facilities and a playground. It also has restrooms.
A nice three-branched trail; mostly paved asphalt, with some concrete northwest of Annie Jones park. There is a nice bridge at one point.
We started at Annie Jones park and followed the trail to Gatehouse Dr, then highland trail and picked the trail back up for a nice loop. Well maintained path with a variety of landscapes that keep it interesting.
